References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot by Obie Award winner and Oscar nominee Jose Rivera.
With a mix of sultry poetry and quick-fire dialogue, Puerto Rican playwright Jose Rivera offers an impassioned tug-of-war between a husband’s swaggering commitment to a life in the army, and his wife’s increasing desire for something more. Equal parts humor and pathos, References to Salvador Dalí Make Me Hot uses elements of the surreal and fantastic to tell a story about two people trying to recapture what it was to fall in love. Featuring AlterTheater’s newest associate artist and Princess Grace award winner Matt Jones (Intimate Apparel, Two Sisters and a Piano) as enlisted man Benito.

Plus: New Works Development Lab
AlterTheater announces the formation of AlterLab, an incubator for new work, supporting writers Marisela Treviño Orta, Dawn Scott, Rebecca Frank, Ignacio Zulueta, and Ann Brebner, adapter of Anne Lamott's novel Hard Laughter for the stage, as they develop new projects.
