Livia Gomes Demarchi

With Alter Theater, Livia proudly originated the roles of Lola in Ghosts of Bogotá by Diana Burbano and Belmira in The River Bride by Marisela Treviño Orta. 

A Bay Area actor and teaching artist, Livia appeared as Tania in Native Gardens at Center Rep, Titania and Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with SF Shakes and Olivia and Maria in Twelfth Night with Arabian Shakespeare (Theatre Bay Area Award, Best Ensemble). She has also worked with SF Playhouse, Crowded Fire, Magic Theater, the Playwrights Foundation, Shotgun Players, BRAVA and Playground, where she is a company member. She holds a BA from UC Berkeley in Theater and Performance Studies, where she developed her first bilingual solo piece Quem Eu?. She has also trained at A.C.T., and at Macunaíma School of Theater in her home country of Brasil. She is thrilled to be a part of Alter Theater Ensemble and continuously support the incredible work and voices cultivated in this company..
