
Vickie Ramirez
Playwright Vickie Ramirez (Tuscarora) is a founding member of the Chukalokoli Native Theater Ensemble and Amerinda Theater.
In 2009 Vickie became the first Indigenous playwright accepted to the Emerging Writer’s Group at New York’s famed Public Theater. She is also the first Indigenous playwright granted a residency at New Dramatists in New York City. Vickie has been produced in New York and Los Angeles and is delighted to be working with AlterTheater on Pure Native (on hold due to COVID).
Vickie just won the Smith Prize for Political Theater for 2020 and has received Honorable Mentions by the Kilroys for Pure Native and Standoff At Hwy#37. Vickie is also consulting on Outer Range for Amazon television. Currently, she is working on Not Invisible, a podcast celebrating female Native activists for Redhouse Productions.
