Playwright Vickie Ramirez (Tuscarora) is an alumnus of the Public Theater’s
Emerging Writer’s Group 2009 and a founding member of Chukalokoli Native Theater Ensemble and Amerinda Theater. Her work has been previously developed and/or presented at Labyrinth Theater Company, Native Voices at the Autry, The Public Theater, The Flea, Missoula Writer’s Colony, Roundabout Theater’s Different Voices Program and the 52nd Street Project. Plays include: Cornsoup, Standoff at Hwy#37, Smoke, and Glenburn 12 WP.
Her latest play, Cornsoup (now renamed to Pure Native), was workshopped at Black Swan (Oregon Shakespeare Festival) in September 2018. Awards include: NYC Urban Artists Fellowship, and 2010 NYSCA Individual Artist Award. Member: New Dramatists (class
of 2025), Chukalokoli Native Theater Ensemble, Amerinda and the Dramatist’s Guild.
